Where does the money go?
As an organization and league, we value the support of our community partners and the trust you put in us to deliver on our mission: to build community, acceptance, and culture through soccer.
Our 2024 budget will enable us to:
Play three seasons of competitive league play in Spring, Summer, and Fall.
Have well trained and paid referees to keep us safe on the field.
Provide events off the field that build community.
Create promotional materials such as banners, flyers, t-shirts, and jerseys for players.
Where does our money come from?
We rely on individual donations, corporate sponsors, grant funding, and league registration fees. In 2023, we raised over $4,000 from individual and corporate donations. We are working on our 2023 Annual Report and will share here and via email when available.
We have built the league registration pay scale based on the minimum yearly expenses needed to run the league. Additional budget expenses will come from fundraising, corporate sponsors, and grant funding. More about the league registration fees below, or check out the league registration page.
So far in 2024, we are pleased to share that we have received three grants to support the league. Thank you to our grant funders! We will continue to search and apply for grant opportunities to fund our work and allow us to provide sliding scale league options for players. No player will ever be turned away if they are unable to pay.

Pay Scale
We are committed to a pricing model that is accessible for all. Our lowest tier is $0 - you can play with us for free, no questions asked.
We have three other pricing tiers - Accessible ($20/season), Average ($50/season), and Stretch ($80/season).
How much should you pay?
That’s up to you! We really like Alexis J. Cunningfolk’s The Green Bottle sliding scale model as a guide. See below!
How did we decide on these tiers?
We came to these numbers based off of our bare minimum annual operating budget of $15,500 for three 8-week seasons. This bare minimum budget includes field rental fees, insurance, referees, and equipment.
Accessible Pricing ($20/season): The cost per player including the grants we received for 2024. $15,500 (minimum budget)- $9,000 (2024 grant funding) = $6,500.
$6,500 / 300 players (100 players per 3 seasons) = $21.67 per player (rounded down to $20/player)
Average Pricing ($50/season): The cost per player without the grants we received for 2024. The grants we received for 2024 are not guaranteed for future years.
$15,500 (minimum budget) / 300 players (100 players per 3 seasons) = $51.67 (rounded down to $50/player)
Stretch Pricing ($80/season):
Covers cost per player and most of another player’s cost.

Lavender League three - five year goals
We are planning for the long-term to ensure we can continue to offer this league year after year. We are working towards other offerings based on community interest such as providing workshops, skill shares, or paying for training; providing equipment to any players in need; expanding into other sports; creating a gender neutral/expansive youth league; and more as we receive continuous feedback from our community.
Community Driven
Regular opportunities for community participation in organizational decisions and resource distribution.
Guided by Anti-Racist Policies
Board and staff are reflective of diversity in community; organization implements anti-racist policies (e.g., equitable compensation for labor, rotating board/leadership positions, white members taking a back seat, etc.)
Reliable and Accessible
League activities are consistent and reputable in guaranteeing accessibility and reducing social exclusion.
Sustainably Funded
Organization is well-funded to provide equipment, supplies and programming through sustainable grants, fundraising, and sponsorships.
Expanded Programming
Exploration of new programmatic domains as desired by community (e.g., additional leagues in other sports, workshops and skill-sharing, queer league for youth, etc.)
Intentional and Authentic Partnerships
Integration with other social and professional queer communities.
